Finnish sauna: heating up and cooling down alternated
Air temperature: 90–100oC, humidity: 15%
The heat wave produced when water is poured over hot rocks evokes a very intense feeling and triggers deep cleansing; the heart rate increases to 120–150 beats per minute after 10–20 minutes and the skin temperature reaches about 45–50oC, which is when we start to sweat.
Herbal sauna
Air temperature: 50–60oC, humidity: 40–60%
Natural herbal vapour at the beginning and at the end of alternating warm and cold effects; loosens up tense muscles and calms an agitated nervous system; a beneficial climate with natural herbal aerosols cleanses the skin and clears the airways; the practice of alternating between warm and cold is an optimal training for vascular walls.
Belokranjski Hram – rustic Finnish sauna
Air temperature: 80–100oC, humidity: 12–15 %
The aroma of rustic birch wood soothes the mind, while the aroma essence of a fresh forest opens and clears the airways. Recommendation: alternate between warming up in a sauna and slowly cooling down by the ice well.
Ice well
Rub your warm body with ice cubes: start with the body parts farthest from the heart and make your way towards the heart; the pleasant tingling sensation all over your body is a clear sign that the circulation has improved. Make sure you drop used cubes to the floor, not back into the well.
