Obligatory examination prior to procedure! What is the procedure like and how does the skin need to be treated afterwards? The procedure with a loop for radiofrequency heating of the excessive tissue is not painful. As a precaution, the area of the procedure is numbed with a local anaesthetic which can cause a slightly uncomfortable feeling, but efficiently prevents any pain during the procedure. The duration of the procedure depends on the type and size of the lesion – it usually takes a couple of minutes for each excrescence.
Some mild pain can occur after the procedure. It can be eased with some common painkillers. A shallow burn occurs on the area where the procedure took place. It has to be covered with a special wrap for 2 days. Afterwards, it has to be removed and a prescribed ointment has to be applied on the area. After 7 to 10 days the burn is healed.
